Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this for?
We're open for everyone. If you’re looking for your first job (irrespective of your degree), you’re welcome to apply. Working professionals looking for a switch can apply as well. You should be able to join a full-time job as of 1st February, 2023. This means that you aren't eligible for this if you're enrolled in college and not in your final year. However, having a college degree is not mandatory.
Do I need to think of an entirely new idea?
No, you're not being judged for innovation so it's perfectly fine to create a clone of an existing app. But you'll be judged on the complexity of your code, so use your judgment and clone Tinder instead of a calculator.
What counts as a good project?
A project counts if the source code is made available in a public git repository. It should also be hosted publicly using Netlify, Vercel, Heroku, etc. Visit bit.ly/roc8-project for more details.
Which technology should I use for my projects?
We are looking for full-stack React projects.
Can I mention group projects in which I had major contributions?
We prefer solo projects. However, if you have the source code and the ownership of the corresponding database (if any), we are open to consider that (but only one or two).
Can I get placed without a degree by making 5 projects and writing 3 blogs?
Yes.
I am a BCA Graduate. Am I eligible for this?
Yes.
Can I apply after 25th December, 2022?
You can. We'll reach out to you when we open the next cohort.
Are backend projects important?
No, backend projects are not important as we focus on React developer roles.
Are tests mandatory in all the apps?
No, tests are not required.
Can I make an API as one of the projects?
You definitely can! Think about the extra things you can do in the project. Write tests for your API. Write good documentation.
Can I submit old projects?
Yes. Note that you can only submit 5 projects so use the slots wisely.
Do we guarantee a job?
No.
